Director, Midwifery Service
Department: Obstetrics & Gynecology
An established healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Manager of Midwifery Services to lead and expand its midwifery program. This role oversees midwives, support staff, and clinical operations, ensuring the highest standards of patient-centered care for women and families.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide strategic leadership and daily oversight of the midwifery service.

Hire, train, and supervise staff; ensure compliance with clinical and regulatory standards.

Develop and implement clinical protocols, quality assurance initiatives, and education programs.

Collaborate with physicians, hospitalists, residents, and medical students to deliver integrated care.

Manage scheduling, staffing, and budget to support optimal patient coverage.

Provide direct patient care across prenatal, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn services.

Represent the service in community outreach, education, and program development.
Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Midwifery required.

Current NYS licensure as a CNM, CM, or LM; RN license required.

Certification by the American College of Nurse Midwives.

DEA registration for prescriptive authority.
-
4+ years of midwifery experience, including 1+ years in a leadership role.

Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
