Duties

• Administer general, regional, and local anesthesia for a variety of surgical and diagnostic procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
• Conduct comprehensive preoperative assessments, including evaluating patient history, physiology, and anatomy to determine appropriate anesthesia plans.
• Monitor patients’ vital signs continuously during procedures using advanced medical equipment and EHR (Electronic Health Record) systems such as Epic.
• Manage airway control and ventilation support during anesthesia administration, responding swiftly to airway management challenges or cardiovascular emergencies.
• Implement patient safety measures by adhering to HIPAA regulations, nursing policy compliance, NCQA standards, and hospital infection prevention protocols.
• Respond effectively to medical emergencies such as cardiac arrest or respiratory distress by executing CPR and resuscitation protocols aligned with hospital policies.
• Document all medical procedures accurately in compliance with healthcare documentation standards while maintaining confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines.

Experience

• Proven experience in critical care environments such as ICU or emergency departments is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated expertise in perioperative care, pain management, and anesthesia techniques including regional anesthesia.
• Strong background in pediatrics, geriatrics, obstetric anesthesia, and cardiovascular emergency response enhances your ability to provide comprehensive patient care.
• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and nursing procedures relevant to anesthesia practice is essential.
• Familiarity with medical equipment operation—including ventilators and monitoring devices—and proficiency with EMR/EHR systems like Epic is required.
• Prior hospital experience demonstrating adherence to state Nursing Practice Acts and nursing policy compliance is advantageous.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is mandatory; additional certifications related to pain management or airway management are a plus.
