Clinical Role

RecruitWell is seeking experienced CRNAs for an ongoing locums opportunity in Monroe, Louisiana. This assignment offers a rotating schedule with 8-, 10-, and 12-hour shifts in a largely independent anesthesia practice model, with anesthesiologist support available as needed. Multiple providers may be accepted.

Assignment Details

• Start date: ASAP

• Ongoing need

• Facility will accept multiple providers

• Weekend coverage required

• Call participation may be included

• OB call coverage is a plus

• Hospital setting

• 13-bed facility

• Stroke-certified hospital

• Assigned and unassigned patients

Schedule & Coverage

• Rotating schedule

• Shift options include:

  • 8-hour shifts

  • 10-hour shifts

  • 12-hour shifts

• Weekend coverage required

• Call rotation: Approximately 0-5 days per month

• 30-minute call response time required

• Approximately 0-3 phone consultations while on call

Practice Model & Clinical Expectations

• CRNAs practice independently for most cases

• Two anesthesiologists are available to assist with:

  • Preoperative evaluations

  • Medical concerns

  • Additional clinical support as needed

• Providers must be comfortable with neuraxial anesthesia

• OB and call experience preferred

Practice Setting & Case Mix

• Patient volume varies by shift

• Approximately 3-4 patients per shift for general cases

• Approximately 10-12 patients per shift for Endoscopy coverage

• Pediatric experience required from newborn through age 18

• Infant cases are uncommon but may occur

• Newborn responsibilities may include intubation during deliveries when clinically necessary

Procedures & Skills

Required clinical experience includes:

• Epidural placement

• Spinal anesthesia

• Pediatric anesthesia

• Airway management

• Newborn intubation when needed

• General CRNA anesthesia responsibilities

Support & Technology

• Two anesthesiologists available for clinical support

• Independent CRNA practice model

• Additional hospital clinical support available as needed

Requirements & Credentialing

• Board Certified through NBCRNA required

• Active Louisiana CRNA license required

• ACLS required

• BLS required

• Prior CRNA experience required

• New graduates will not be considered

• Must have experience caring for patients from newborn through age 18

• Comfort with epidurals and spinals required

Trauma Coverage

• Source lists Trauma Level II and Level III coverage
