OnCall Solutions is looking for a locum tenens CRNA to provide inpatient anesthesia coverage at a rural critical access hospital in Northern New York. This is an ongoing assignment with a flexible start date. The main need is overnight coverage. There are two schedule options: three consecutive 12-hour night shifts, or day shifts with home call and post-call days off. The role involves OB, epidural and general anesthesia, and CRNAs practice independently.
Job Responsibilities
Place and manage labor epidurals
Cover inpatient anesthesia needs overnight and respond to emergencies
Conduct preoperative assessments and monitor patients
Care for about 10–15 patients per shift, practicing independently
Document care thoroughly in Epic
Qualifications
New York license in hand before start (required)
Current BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications
Epic EMR experience (required)
Current work history with no gaps of 30 days or more, and full disclosure of malpractice history
Comfortable practicing in a rural, critical access setting (no residents, fellows or trainees)
Working Hours
Option 2: Day shift (7a–3p) plus home call (3p–7a) on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday, with post-call days off Monday, Wednesday and Friday
About 6 overnight call shifts every 2 weeks
