Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) – Locum Tenens

Acute Care Hospital | Potsdam, New York

We are seeking a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) for a locum tenens opportunity at an acute care hospital in Potsdam, New York. This assignment offers flexible scheduling options and is ideal for a CRNA who is comfortable practicing in a rural hospital setting with a diverse caseload.

Compensation

  • Regular Rate: $210.00/hour
  • Overtime Rate: $217.00/hour
  • Holiday Rate: $217.00/hour
  • 24-Hour Call: $870.00/day
  • Night Call: $665.00/shift
  • Call Back: $217.00/hour

  • Coverage Need: 6 overnight call shifts within a 2-week period
  • Primary Need: Overnight coverage

Schedule Options

Option 1 – Overnight Coverage

  • Three consecutive overnight shifts
  • 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
  • No daytime coverage required
  • Provider may select three nights between Monday and Thursday

Option 2 – Day Shift + Overnight Call

  • Day Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM
  • Home Call: 3:00 PM - 7:00 AM
  • Schedule accommodates post-call recovery days:
    • Work Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday
    • Post-call days off Monday, Wednesday, and Friday

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Provide anesthesia services for inpatient and surgical patients
  • Administer and manage general anesthesia cases
  • Provide obstetrical anesthesia services, including epidurals
  • Participate in surgical scheduling and perioperative care
  • Respond to emergent anesthesia needs during call coverage
  • Collaborate with surgeons, nursing staff, and hospital leadership
  • Additional duties as assigned

Patient Volume

  • Approximately 10-15 patients per day

Qualifications

  • Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)
  • Board Certified
  • Active New York license preferred
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
  • Experience with OB anesthesia and epidural placement preferred
  • Comfortable working independently in a rural hospital environment
  • Strong clinical decision-making skills and ability to manage a broad range of anesthesia cases
