Locum CRNA | Syracuse, NY | 10-Hour Day Shifts | No Call or Weekends | Travel Covered

Med Ninjas is seeking an experienced Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist for an ongoing assignment in Syracuse, New York, beginning in December 2026 and continuing through June 2027.

This position offers consistent 10-hour day shifts, no call, no weekend coverage, and reimbursement for approved travel. The CRNA will provide anesthesia services across hospital operating rooms, an endoscopy unit, a cardiac lab, and an ambulatory surgery center.

Assignment Snapshot

Schedule

• Monday through Friday
• 7:00 AM–5:30 PM
• Approximately 10-hour day shifts
• No call
• No weekend coverage

The hospital maintains separate CRNA coverage for evenings, nights, and weekends.

Clinical Coverage

The selected CRNA will provide anesthesia services in:

• Main hospital operating rooms
• Ambulatory surgery center
• Endoscopy unit
• Cardiac lab

The facility has:

• 15 main operating rooms
• 4 ambulatory surgery center operating rooms
• Scrub technicians
• RN circulators
• Anesthesia technicians

Regional blocks are not required for this assignment.

Practice Model

This is a medically supervised anesthesia environment, but candidates must be comfortable functioning independently within the established care model.

• General anesthesia supervision ratio: 1 anesthesiologist to 4 CRNAs
• Cardiac supervision ratio: 1 anesthesiologist to 2 CRNAs
• The supervising anesthesiologist may not remain in the room for the entire case

Candidates should therefore be clinically confident, adaptable, and comfortable managing cases with appropriate physician oversight.

Candidate Requirements

• Active NBCRNA certification
• Active New York CRNA license
• Experience providing anesthesia care in hospital operating rooms
• Ability to function independently within a medically supervised model
• Comfort treating patients age 16 and older, including adult and geriatric populations
• Ability to complete hospital credentialing
• Availability beginning in December 2026

Travel & Logistics

Approved travel expenses are reimbursed.

Syracuse is served by Syracuse Hancock International Airport, located less than 10 minutes from the hospital. The area also offers access to the Finger Lakes, Adirondack Mountains, Thousand Islands, restaurants, universities, outdoor recreation, and regional cultural activities.

Specific travel arrangements and reimbursement guidelines will be reviewed with qualified candidates before confirmation.

Compensation

Competitive hourly compensation is available and will be discussed directly with a Med Ninjas recruiter.

Additional compensation categories may apply for:

• Orientation
• Holiday hours
• Overtime worked after the scheduled daily shift
• Holiday overtime

Overtime applies when the CRNA works beyond the scheduled 7:00 AM–5:30 PM shift, rather than solely on the basis of weekly hours.
