A healthcare facility in Southwest Wisconsin is seeking an experienced CRNA for a permanent opportunity with an ASAP start. This position is ideal for a confident CRNA who values clinical autonomy, enjoys a varied anesthesia practice, and prefers the pace and personal connection of a community-based hospital.
The practice includes OB anesthesia, epidurals, nerve blocks, general anesthesia, and orthopedic cases, with surgical volume typically averaging approximately 3–8 cases depending on the surgical schedule. OB volume is approximately 125–140 deliveries annually, including roughly 30–35 C-sections.
This is a true independent-practice environment, so candidates must have the experience and confidence to practice autonomously.

Job Responsibilities
Perform pre-anesthesia patient evaluations and develop individualized anesthesia plans.
Administer and manage general anesthesia for appropriate surgical cases.
Provide anesthesia services for orthopedic procedures.
Perform and manage regional anesthesia and nerve blocks.
Provide OB anesthesia, including labor epidurals and anesthesia for C-sections.
Monitor patients throughout procedures and respond appropriately to changes in clinical status.
Manage patient airways and provide appropriate perioperative airway support.
Provide post-anesthesia evaluation and ensure safe transition to recovery.
Recognize and manage anesthesia-related complications and emergency situations.
Coordinate with surgeons, nursing staff, obstetric teams, and other members of the clinical team.
Maintain accurate and timely anesthesia documentation.
Follow facility policies, anesthesia protocols, and patient-safety standards.
Participate in the facility's rotating call schedule.
Qualifications
Current CRNA certification
Wisconsin licensure/authorization required
Independent-practice experience is non-negotiable
Candidate's professional experience must demonstrate the ability to practice independently
BLS required
ACLS required
PALS required
NRP preferred/suggested but not required
RQI accepted when applicable
DEA is preferred and currently held by existing CRNAs; however, lack of a DEA will not automatically disqualify a candidate
Surgeon coverage may be utilized when appropriate and will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis
Must successfully complete a 10-panel pre-employment drug screen no more than 90 days prior to employment
Must meet facility vaccination and health-screening requirements, including:
TB screening — two-step or QuantiFERON Gold within the previous 6 months
Hepatitis B
MMR
Tdap
Varicella
Seasonal influenza vaccination when applicable
Working Hours
Week 1: First call
Week 2: Second call
Week 3: Off call
Rotation then repeats
This structure gives the CRNA a defined call cycle and a regularly scheduled week free from call responsibilities.
Skills
Ability to function confidently and safely with a high degree of autonomy
Proficiency with general anesthesia
Experience with OB anesthesia and labor epidurals
Experience providing anesthesia for C-sections
Proficiency with regional anesthesia and nerve blocks
Experience with orthopedic anesthesia
Strong airway assessment and management skills
Ability to independently evaluate patients and develop appropriate anesthesia plans

Ability to recognize and manage anesthesia emergencies and complications

Comfortable practicing in a community hospital environment
