Overview
We are seeking a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join our team and provide high-quality anesthesia care across a wide range of surgical and clinical settings. This role involves independent practice within the full scope of anesthesia services, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and optimal surgical conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer general, regional, and local anesthesia for various procedures, including obstetric, orthopedic, pediatric, trauma, general, and outpatient surgeries
- Conduct pre-anesthesia assessments, including patient history, physical exams, and review of laboratory data
- Develop and implement appropriate anesthesia care plans
- Perform airway management, including endotracheal intubation and ventilatory support
- Administer spinal, epidural, and regional nerve blocks (including ultrasound-guided techniques)
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and physiological responses before, during, and after anesthesia
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and anesthesia documentation
- Respond quickly and effectively to emergency situations and adverse reactions
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and clinical staff to ensure high-quality patient care
- Participate in quality assurance, peer review, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Manage anesthesia equipment, supplies, and inventory
- Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and organizational policies and standards
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Anesthesiology program
- Certifications & Licensure
- Current CRNA certification (NBCRNA)
- Active Vermont RN/APRN license in good standing
- DEA registration
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (preferred)
- Experience
- 1–5 years of independent anesthesia practice preferred
- Comfortable working independently
- Experience with regional anesthesia and ultrasound-guided blocks preferred
