Annashae Healthcare is partnering with a local Houston facility to hire a CRNA for part time, full time and PRN services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive pre-anesthetic evaluations, including physical exams, history taking, and review of preoperative consults.
- Formulate and implement individualized anesthesia plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary surgical team.
- Administer all forms of anesthesia, including inhalation, regional, intravenous, local, and topical techniques.
- Monitor patient physiological status continuously during procedures, adjusting techniques to optimize safety and outcomes.
- Manage post-anesthetic recovery to minimize pain and ensure stable emergence.
- Serve as a vital member of the "Code Blue" Team, providing emergency airway management and resuscitation throughout the facility.
- Act as the sole on-site anesthesia provider during weekends and holidays to manage emergency airways (working in coordination with an off-site anesthesiologist).
- Administer emergency fluids and medications in accordance with patient Advance Directives.
- Work within a collaborative team model under the clinical oversight of the Chief CRNA and supervising anesthesiologists.
- Provide clinical guidance and training to doctoral-level anesthesia students and medical students from Baylor College of Medicine and UT Health Science Center Houston.
- Maintain effective, professional working relationships with all levels of medical center staff.
- Ensure timely and accurate charting of anesthetic records and clinical data within the electronic medical record.
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality and a safe care environment.
- Adhere to national Joint Commission accreditation standards and facility clinical protocols.
- Apply advanced theories and new developments to solve complex anesthesia situations.
- Stay current with advancements in pharmacology, technology, and anesthesia techniques to improve patient care services.
- Advanced knowledge of anesthesia methods, techniques, and equipment.
- Strong communication skills for explaining risks, benefits, and alternatives to patients.
- Ability to adapt anesthesia techniques to a broad range of complex surgical procedures
Qualifications:
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a CRNA.
- Must have related work experience within the last year, with no employment gaps exceeding four months.
- Must hold a current, full, active, and unrestricted license as a professional nurse in any U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia.
- Graduate of a professional nursing school accredited by the NLNAC or CCNE. Foreign graduates must possess a CGFNS certificate.
- Graduate of a nurse anesthesia program accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA) or approved by the AANA at the time of completion.
- Must be certified (and maintain recertification) by the Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists (CCNA/NBCRNA).
- Life Support: Must hold current BLS and ACLS certifications.
