Job Description:

This role offers an exciting opportunity for experienced CRNAs to join the Cook County Health and Hospital System in Chicago. You will provide anesthesia care for a variety of surgical cases, primarily bread-and-butter and acute procedures, while working alongside a skilled team of anesthesiologists and CRNAs. The position features weekday shifts with no call, weekends, or holidays, making it ideal for professionals seeking work-life balance. Candidates must hold an active Illinois license, maintain BLS and ACLS certifications, and have at least one year of clinical experience. This is a locum assignment with competitive pay and a streamlined credentialing process.

Job Responsibilities

• Administer anesthesia for surgical and medical procedures in a safe and effective manner.
• Monitor patients before, during, and after anesthesia to ensure stability and recovery.
• Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to plan anesthesia care.
• Prepare and maintain anesthesia equipment and medications according to protocols.
• Respond promptly to any complications or emergencies during procedures.
• Document all anesthesia-related care accurately in the EMR system (Cerner).
• Adhere to hospital policies, safety standards, and infection control guidelines.
• Participate in orientation and credentialing processes as required by the facility.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Illinois CRNA license.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Minimum of one year of clinical experience as a CRNA.
• Ability to manage bread-and-butter and acute cases (excluding cardiac, head, and subspecialty).
• Strong knowledge of anesthesia techniques, medications, and patient monitoring.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills for working in a multidisciplinary environment.
• Familiarity with EMR systems (Cerner preferred).
• Compliance with COVID-19 vaccination requirements (exemptions as applicable).
