Company History

Cooper University Health Care has a rich history of innovation and excellence in healthcare. Founded in 1887 by the family of Richard M. Cooper, a Quaker physician, the hospital began as a small community hospital serving the low-income population of Camden, New Jersey. Over the years, it has grown into a comprehensive healthcare system with a commitment to providing advanced medical care in a compassionate, patient-centered environment. The hospital has undergone several expansions and renovations, including the establishment of specialized institutes and the addition of new patient care facilities.
