TaraVista and MiraVista Behavioral Health Centers are leading providers of behavioral health care in New
England. Our system of care provides inpatient psychiatric treatment for children, adolescents and adults alongside an array of outpatient recovery services.
Born out of a critical need for inpatient mental health treatment in our communities, particularly for our youth,
we offer healing and hope to thousands of individuals each year.
Today, we are as committed as we were the first day our doors opened to expanding access to care, and to
reducing the stigma and barriers that too often hinder individuals from seeking help. Together, we are just beginning to realize the full potential of what compassionate, effective behavioral healthcare can

Our Story Is Inspiring
TaraVista Behavioral Health Center is a free-standing specialty hospital providing acute psychiatric care to children, adolescents and adults. We are a young, vibrant and growing health care organization. The hospital was founded by Dr. Michael P. Krupa along with its sister hospital, MiraVista Behavioral Health in Holyoke.
When our doors opened in 2016, we filled a crucial need for inpatient mental health care in the community, in particular, for child and adolescent services. Starting a psychiatric hospital from “scratch” afforded us a rare opportunity to create something extraordinary for our patients and their families and for our staff. Throughout the process, we were able to incorporate the best practices in psychiatric care to support our person-centered approach to treatment.
The hospital's inception came at a critical time when the community was witnessing an increase in demand for mental health care which has been further exacerbated by the pandemic. Today, TaraVista plays an essential role in our community's mental health system.
Located in Devens, Massachusetts, TaraVista is easily accessible from I-495, I-290 and Route 2. While our primary catchment area is Worcester and Middlesex counties, we also serve patients throughout the Commonwealth and Southern New Hampshire.
In 2020, TaraVista HealthPartners purchased Providence Behavioral Health located in Holyoke after it was announced that the facility was closing. MiraVista Behavioral Health Center is a new healthcare provider created to bring much needed psychiatric and substance use recovery services to Western Massachusetts. We opened our doors in April 2021 to serve the Pioneer Valley community.
Our future is bright! We are transforming the lives of our patients, and we are making a meaningful impact on our communities. We plan to increase our inpatient capacity over the next year and are undergoing extensive renovations to our patient care areas, building and grounds. We keenly understand the dedication it takes to provide healing and hope to individuals and their families in need of care and compassion.
