Excellent career opportunity with an established and expanding sports medicine program. This is a unique opportunity for a highly motivated primary care sports physician with an interest in academic medicine. Potential responsibilities may include team coverage.

OSU Sports Medicine offers a comprehensive interdisciplinary approach to the prevention and treatment of injuries in athletes and active individuals. Our pursuit of excellence in research, clinical care, and education is enhanced by our position in a prominent academic medical center, which allows the integration of considerable strengths in several surgical and medical specialties. The benefits of this integrated model include advanced clinical care and collaborative research opportunities as well as an excellent teaching environment to foster the professional development of our future sports medicine leaders.

In addition to providing care for all Ohio State Buckeye varsity athletes, our doctors serve as team physicians for high school, collegiate, professional and recreational teams throughout the Columbus region.

Professional Setting: Multidisciplinary medical complexes that are on and off OSU campus. Collaborative environment supported by shared clinical space with family medicine, orthopedics/ortho sports and ancillary medical programs. On-site imaging, lab, and rehabilitation are readily available.

Professional Responsibilities: Primarily musculoskeletal sports medicine practice with mix of primary care. Team physician for affiliated community outreach sports teams (team and event coverage) is expected. Academic responsibilities will be defined by candidate’s qualifications and interests.

Application Requirements: Board Certification (MD or DO) in primary specialty and certificate of added qualifications (CAQ) in Sports Medicine are required. Significant interest in research and teaching is desired. Minimum of 5 years’ sports medicine and team coverage experience preferred.
