Caduceus healthcare is looking for an experienced Family Practice, Emergency Medicine or Internal Medicine Physician to work at the Whiteriver Indian Hospital in Whiteriver, AZ on the Fort Apache Indian Reservation. Whiteriver is a 45 bed facility within 20-30 miles from the resort towns of Pinetop, Lakeside, and Show Low. This facility is designated as a Baby Friendly Hospital. The hospital is JCAHO-accredited and staffed by 22 physicians, podiatrist, five nurse practitioners, five dentists, two optometrists, and about 79 nursing staff members.
Position Requirements:
• Active/Unrestricted Medical License in any state
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency, Family Practice or Internal Medicine
• 1 ½ years experience in Emergency Medicine
• Current BLS Certification
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Serves as a Medical Officer (Emergency Medicine) which involves performance of Ambulatory Medical Treatment for emergency, surgical and medical care services.
• Provides emergency care by interviewing and examining any and all patients seeking emergency care.
• Reviews past medical history and immediately request and/or perform diagnostic tests and examinations deemed necessary to obtain all possible information related to each case.
• Makes preliminary diagnosis, directs, prescribes or provides treatment, or arranges for specialized care or patient referral as required.
• Conducts urgent/emergent services, making observations appropriate to patient’s underlying disease and treatment plan.
