Join Our Team as a Locum Physician - Wound Care in Batavia, OH

Are you an experienced wound care specialist looking to make a meaningful impact while enjoying flexible scheduling? We are seeking a dedicated Locum Physician to provide expert wound care services on a temporary basis at a reputable outpatient facility. This vital role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse patient population, utilizing your skills to promote healing, prevent complications, and enhance patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a variety of wounds, including skin reactions, vascular ulcers, pressure ulcers, diabetic ulcers, traumatic injuries, surgical wounds, and burns.
  • Perform debridement, skin grafting, and hyperbaric oxygen therapy supervision.
  • Educate patients and their support systems on wound care techniques and prevention strategies.
  • Initiate and oversee treatment plans using advanced therapies such as bioengineered skin, negative pressure wound therapy, and skin grafting.
  • Assess chronic and acute wounds, provide appropriate interventions, and document progress accurately in Epic EMR.
  • Implement preventative measures to reduce the incidence of ulcers and wounds.

Required Skills:
  • Valid medical license and board certification in wound care, surgery, or related specialty.
  • Proven experience managing complex wounds, including ulcers, surgical wounds, and burns.
  • Proficiency in wound assessment, debridement, and advanced wound therapies.
  • Strong patient education and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and work independently.

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Experience with hyperbaric oxygen therapy supervision.
  • Additional certifications in wound management or hyperbaric medicine.
  • Familiarity with Epic EMR system.

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
  • At least 2 years of post-training experience in wound care or a related field.
  • Prior locum or temporary staffing experience is advantageous.

Other Requirements:
  • Availability to work a full 8-hour shift from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM starting December 8, 2025, through March 31, 2026.
  • Ability to manage approximately 15-30 patients per day.
  • Willingness to travel if necessary; facility reimburses travel-related expenses including flight, mileage, hotel, and rental car.
