Job description
ATC West Healthcare Services is seeking a Locum Wound Care physician to provide outpatient clinic coverage during a gap between permanent hires. The provider will manage a wide range of acute and chronic wounds, perform advanced wound-care procedures, and oversee hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) as needed. This role involves comprehensive patient management, education, and preventive care in a non-trauma designated setting.

Average Patient Volume: 15–30 patients/day

Job Details & Responsibilities
-
Provide comprehensive wound evaluation, treatment, and ongoing management.

Treat and prevent skin breakdown and skin reactions.

Manage vascular, pressure, and diabetic ulcers; provide ulcer prevention education.

Assess and treat draining wounds, fistulae, and non-healing surgical wounds.

Initiate preventive measures to reduce incidence of pressure and vascular ulcers.

Apply and supervise topical therapies and wound dressings; instruct patients and caregivers on proper wound care techniques.

Oversee and supervise hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT).

Manage a variety of wounds, including:

Acute wounds (inflammatory, proliferative, remodeling phases)

Surgical and traumatic wounds

Arterial, venous insufficiency, pressure, and diabetic ulcers

Chronic venous insufficiency, pilonidal cysts, gangrene, radiation injury, burns
-
Treatments Utilized:
Bioengineered skin applications, debridement, HBOT, incision & drainage, negative-pressure wound therapy, post-surgical incision management, skin grafting, Unna boot application, total contact casting.
Required Skills & Qualifications

Active Ohio medical license — REQUIRED

BLS certification — REQUIRED

ACLS — Preferred (especially for HBO supervision)

Clinical experience in advanced wound care management

Proficiency with Epic EMR

Ability to manage a high-volume outpatient wound clinic independently
