Neurohospitalist Job Details

- Weekly Estimated Pay: $6,480–$7,670
- Start Date: ASAP
- Duration: Approximately 12 weeks, with coverage needed through December 2026; extension details may be discussed
- Patient Volume: Approximately 8–15 patients per day, with 10 or more encounters per shift
- Schedule: Weekend coverage may include Saturday through Monday or seven-day blocks with 24-hour shifts
- Credentialing: Estimated timeframe of approximately 60 days
Neurology Physician Job Requirements
- Physician with neurology or neurohospitalist training
- Relevant clinical experience; no minimum years of experience required
- Board eligible or board certified in the appropriate specialty
- Active Texas physician license
- Ability to independently interpret EEG studies
- Current ACLS, BLS, and ABLS certifications
- Hospital privileges are a plus, along with completion of applicable credentialing requirements
- Strong communication skills, sound clinical judgment, and commitment to patient-centered care
Neurohospitalist Responsibilities
- Provide inpatient neurologic evaluation and management for approximately 8–15 patients per day
- Complete 10 or more patient encounters during assigned shifts, as appropriate to the clinical workload
- Interpret EEG studies independently and incorporate findings into patient care plans
- Evaluate and manage acute and complex neurologic conditions in the hospital setting
- Coordinate with consulting services and the interventional radiology team, which manages lumbar puncture procedures
- Document assessments, treatment plans, and follow-up recommendations accurately and promptly
- Collaborate with nursing, ancillary services, and other physicians to promote safe, efficient patient care
