Locum Tenens Urologist Physician – Per Diem in Portsmouth, Ohio

Urology Job Details

  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $6,480–$7,670
  • Office Hours: Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Clinical Volume: Approximately 15–20 patient encounters per shift
  • Office Setting: Three to four half-day clinics, two procedure rooms, one urodynamics room, and six exam rooms
  • Hospital Procedure Volume: Approximately 4–8 procedures per day
  • Clinical Support: Two nurse practitioners, medical office assistants, clinical staff, a surgery scheduler, and a urodynamics technician

Locum Tenens Urologist Requirements

  • Physician with at least 1 year of clinical experience in urology
  • Board certification required
  • Valid, unrestricted physician license and eligibility to practice in Ohio
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications
  • Demonstrated proficiency in general urology and advanced endoscopic techniques
  • Experience with laparoscopic surgery, percutaneous nephrolithotomy, ureteroscopy, and laser lithotripsy
  • Experience performing renal and bladder ultrasound with biopsy and transrectal ultrasound-guided prostate biopsies
  • Experience with urologic incontinence procedures
  • Neonatal urology capability, as specified for this opportunity

Urology Physician Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and manage patients in outpatient urology clinics
  • Perform office-based vasectomies, prostate biopsies, cystoscopies with stent removal, and prostate ultrasounds
  • Provide inpatient and hospital-based urologic surgical care
  • Perform advanced endoscopic procedures, ureteroscopy, percutaneous nephrolithotomy, and laser lithotripsy
  • Manage urologic conditions involving kidney and urinary stones, prostate disorders, urinary incontinence, pelvic floor conditions, and related surgical needs
  • Collaborate with advanced practice providers and clinical support staff to deliver efficient, patient-centered care
  • Document patient evaluations, procedures, treatment plans, and follow-up care accurately
