Job description
We are seeking a Urologist for a locum tenens position in Longview, Washington. This is a combined inpatient and outpatient assignment covering an acute care hospital and an affiliated outpatient urology clinic. Please see below for more information.
- 122-bed acute care hospital
- Level III/IV adult trauma designation
- Epic EMR
- Inpatient and outpatient coverage; privileges required at both the hospital and the outpatient clinic
Job Responsibilities
Treat an adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient population
Manage an average daily census of approximately 18
Perform clinic-based procedures including catheter placement, stent placement, cystoscopy, prostate biopsy, and circumcision
Perform operative procedures including TURP, TURBT, ureteroscopy, shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL), orchiopexy, hydrocelectomy, spermatocelectomy, photoselective vaporization of the prostate (PVP), and litholapaxy
Diagnose and manage kidney stones, erectile dysfunction, and male incontinence
Provide surgical assist coverage
Manage annual medication refills
Provide call coverage for both the hospital and the clinic
Qualifications
Active Washington state medical license in hand, or IMLC with Letter of Qualification in hand
BLS required (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
ACLS required (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
Epic charting experience required
Case log documentation required: applicant must provide a case list documenting provision of surgical services (100 procedures) representative of the scope and complexity of the privileges requested, including diagnosis or procedure, date, and facility where performed
Working Hours
8-hour clinic shifts with 24-hour call
Call is assigned in weeklong 24-hour blocks
When on call: 3 clinic days and 1 OR day, with an administrative day off in between
When not on call: approximately 4 clinic days and 1 OR day
1:2 weekend call
Call is restricted/beeper with a 10-minute return-call response time and an approximate 30-minute response radius
Average of 0-4 after-hours calls or texts
