Physician - Urology
Job Details:
Provide 24-hour urology call coverage on a 7a-7a scheduleIn-house call is not required; however, response time to be on-site is within 20 minutes
Typically 2-4 calls per night with 1-2 expected on-site call-ins
Approximately 1-5 patients per shift with an average of 2-5 inpatient calls per 24-hour period
Physicians are not required to remain on-site during night or weekend call but are required to round and discharge
Average on-site call-back hours expected: 2-4 hours per day
If assignment is strictly 24-hour call: 2-4 hours per day of rounding with remaining hours on-call with call-back
Responsible for rounding on new admissions and any inpatient who requires rounding
Handle patient consults, transfer questions, and on-call inquiries
Common procedures include kidney stone management, consults on continuous bladder irrigation (CBI), stent placement, hematuria management, and difficult catheter placements
General urology skills required including adult urology and ureteroscopy
Laparoscopic surgery and nephrectomy skills preferred
Board certification required
Level 2 trauma facility
