Seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Urologist for a locum tenens assignment in Potsdam, NY. This is a full-time coverage need due to staffing gaps, offering a balanced mix of outpatient clinic, procedures, inpatient consults, and optional call.
Schedule & Coverage
- Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (clinic-based schedule)
- Clinic hours may extend to 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM Monday–Thursday
- Full-time coverage strongly preferred
- Call is optional and can be arranged based on provider availability
- Call schedule: 7:00 AM – 7:00 AM (flexible participation)
- Start Date: 06/01/2026
- Contract Duration: 26 weeks
Practice Setting
- Outpatient urology clinic with inpatient consult support
- Level III Trauma Center
- OR block time typically 7:30 AM – 3:00 PM
- Epic EMR system
- Adult patient population only (18+)
- Approx. 20 patients per day
Clinical Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive urologic care in outpatient and inpatient settings
- Perform “bread and butter” urology procedures
- Manage clinic visits, consults, and post-operative rounding
- Participate in OR cases as scheduled
- Provide inpatient consults and hospital-based urology care as needed
- Collaborate with APPs and clinic support staff for continuity of care
Support Staff
- 1 full-time provider currently on staff
- 2 LPNs
- 2 CNAs/CMA staff
- 1 patient representative
- Established outpatient clinic with 4 exam rooms
Requirements
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Urology
- Active New York State medical license required (in hand preferred)
- BLS certification required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Strong clinical and procedural urology background
- No significant employment gaps (>30 days) without explanation
