Start Date: September 1, 2026 (and ongoing PRN blocks)
Duration: As needed (PRN / recurring 7-day blocks)

Position Overview

Seeking a Board-Certified Urologist for high-compensation, 24-hour hospital call coverage in Chambersburg, PA. This is a PRN block-style assignment occurring approximately every 12โ€“14 weeks, providing intensive but highly compensated coverage for inpatient, surgical, and emergency urology needs.

This role is ideal for experienced urologists comfortable managing independent call coverage without onsite APP support.

Schedule

  • 24-hour call coverage (hospital + surgical cases)
  • Block Dates:
    • September 1 (7:00 AM) โ€“ September 8 (7:00 AM)
    • November 16 (7:00 AM) โ€“ November 23 (7:00 AM)
  • Frequency: PRN (approximately every 12โ€“14 weeks)
  • Call Burden: ~10โ€“12 hours of callback per day
  • No structured clinic schedule (call-based coverage only)

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Provide inpatient and surgical urology coverage
  • Respond to emergency consults across multiple affiliated facilities:
    • Chambersburg Hospital
    • Gettysburg
    • Waynesboro
    • Fulton County Medical Center
  • Manage all urologic patient populations (adult, pediatric, geriatric)
  • Perform urologic procedures and urgent surgical interventions
  • Independent decision-making (no APP support onsite)

Practice Details

  • Setting: Acute care hospital + regional coverage
  • EMR: Epic
  • Hospital Size: 76 beds
  • Support Staff: No APP support
  • Patient Population: All ages (pediatrics through geriatrics)
  • Coverage Area: Multi-site phone consult network

Requirements

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Urology
  • Active Pennsylvania medical license (required)
  • DEA required
  • Strong urologic surgical and emergency coverage skills
  • Excellent communication and responsiveness (key requirement)

Additional Information

  • Credentialing timeframe: ~90 days (temporary privileges available for clean files)
  • Orientation: All hours billable
  • Minimal frequency but high-acuity responsibility
  • Independent practice environment
