Position Overview:
Berkshire Health System is seeking a dedicated and experienced Urology Physician to join its established hospital-based urology team in Pittsfield, MA. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity for a qualified professional committed to delivering exceptional patient care within a respected community health system serving the Berkshires region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive outpatient and inpatient urology care to adult patients, addressing a broad spectrum of urologic conditions.
- Collaborate closely with a team of five on-site urologists and multidisciplinary healthcare providers to ensure seamless patient management.
- Utilize onsite laboratory and radiology services for diagnostic purposes, supporting prompt and accurate assessment.
- Perform and support hospital-based urological procedures and perioperative care as needed, ensuring patient safety and adherence to clinical protocols.
- Document all patient interactions accurately and thoroughly using the Meditech Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
- Follow Berkshire Health System’s clinical protocols, quality standards, and best practices to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Provide continuity of care throughout inpatient stays, especially in situations where Advanced Practice Providers transition out of their roles.
- Participate actively in inpatient rounding, treatment planning, and multidisciplinary discussions to develop individualized patient care plans.
Qualifications:
- Medical degree from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a urology residency program and board certification in urology.
- Valid BLS certification.
- Proven experience or interest in hospital-based urology practice is preferred.
- Strong documentation skills and familiarity with EMR systems.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
