Locum - Physician - Neurology Petoskey, MI
Join a reputable healthcare facility as a dedicated Neurologist providing critical coverage starting March 2026. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to impact patient care in a dynamic environment, balancing onsite hospital coverage with outpatient clinic responsibilities. Be part of a supportive team committed to professional excellence and patient well-being.
In this position, you'll deliver comprehensive neurological services including EEG interpretation, lumbar punctures, radiologic exam analysis, and brain death examinations. You will manage inpatient and outpatient cases, with outpatient clinics scheduled for three half-days weekly. Call responsibilities include night, weekend, and holiday coverage, ensuring continuous patient support.
Candidates must possess strong diagnostic skills and competence in interpreting radiologic exams and EEGs. The ability to perform lumbar punctures and brain death exams is essential. Adjust as needed to accommodate emergent situations and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
Additional skills beneficial to success include experience with Cerner EMR, proficiency in evoked potentials, and familiarity with inpatient and outpatient neurological procedures. Multitasking, communication, and adaptability are vital attributes.
Preferred candidates will hold an MD or DO with board certification or eligibility in Neurology. Prior experience in hospital and outpatient settings is advantageous, along with a proactive approach to patient management.
Other requirements include current medical licensure, active DEA certification, and immunization records compliant with occupational health standards (Hep B, MMR, Varicella, Flu, Covid, TB, Tdap). Travel and lodging expenses are not covered through third-party booking services. Provider must utilize DocTime for clock-in/out procedures.
This role offers competitive hourly pay, with compensation details to be discussed during the hiring process. Additional rates are available for orientation, overtime, holiday work, night call, and callback hours. Please note that McLaren does not reimburse Med Staff Fees.
