Urology – Permanent (Hospital-Based)

Position Overview

Seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Urologist for a permanent, hospital-employed role in a community hospital setting. The position includes a mix of outpatient clinic, procedural work, and inpatient consults, with access to block OR time.

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and manage general urologic conditions in the outpatient setting

  • Perform in-office urologic procedures

  • Provide inpatient consults and perioperative care

  • Perform operative urology cases appropriate for a community hospital setting

  • Collaborate with primary care providers and other specialists

  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation

Schedule & Workload (Community Hospital Average)

  • Monday–Friday schedule

  • 4–5 clinic days per week

  • Block OR time available

  • Inpatient consults as needed

  • Call coverage: 1:3 to 1:4, primarily consult-based

  • Average clinic volume: 20–25 patients per day, depending on procedure mix

Compensation & Benefits (Market-Based – CT Community Hospital)

  • Base salary typically $425,000–$550,000, dependent on experience and case mix

  • Productivity bonus or RVU-based incentive structure

  • Hospital-employed compensation model

Candidate Requirements

  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school

  • Completion of an accredited Urology residency

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Urology

    • Board certification required within 5 years if BE

  • Active Connecticut medical license or ability to obtain

  • Comfortable practicing across clinic, OR, and inpatient consult settings

  • Strong procedural and documentation skills
