PATIENT INFORMATION
  • Patient Demographics: Adults (18+)
  • Patient Volume/Census: 12 patients on Friday; 510 consults per day on weekends

  • Rounding: Included as part of call coverage

  • Case Mix: General urology consults with occasional OR cases (stents, stones, clot evacuation)

FACILITY INFORMATION
  • Trauma Level: Level 4
  • EMR System: Cerner
  • Office Equipment Available: Fully equipped hospital and OR
  • Specialty Backup Available: Hospital specialty services
  • Support Staff Available: Standard hospital staff (no clinic coverage required)
  • Reason for Coverage: Supplemental weekend call coverage

PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE
  • Hospital Privileges Required: Yes
  • Credentialing Timeline: Approximately 60 days

  • General urology procedures
  • Ureteral stents and stone management
  • Clot evacuation and emergency urologic procedures

JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Licenses: Active WV license or eligible via IMLC or WV temporary license
  • Board: Board Certified in Urology
  • DEA: Active DEA required
  • Certifications: BLS, ACLS
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years in urology practice
  • Other Qualifications: Comfortable managing weekend hospital-based urology call independently

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide 24-hour weekend call coverage from Friday morning through Monday morning
  • Manage inpatient urology consults and emergency cases
  • Perform urgent OR procedures as needed
  • Coordinate patient care with hospital staff and specialty services
  • Ensure timely documentation within Cerner EMR
