Locum Urologist
Seeking a bread-and-butter Urologist for locum tenens coverage to support an open position with ongoing recruitment challenges. The assignment is clinic- and call-based and requires a minimum commitment of 3 months, with opportunities to extend. The provider will function as the sole urologist in a fast-paced, high-volume department and should be comfortable managing a wide variety of general urology cases across clinic, rounding, and the OR.
Assignment Duration & Schedule

Initial coverage needed for 3–6 months, with ongoing weekly needs beginning in July

Coverage blocks available March through June, with weekly openings thereafter

Clinic hours: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Call coverage includes:
-
Night call: 5:00 PM – 8:00 AM
-
24-hour call: 7:00 AM – 7:00 AM (approximately 1:6 rotation)

Minimum expectation: 5–6 days of clinic and call coverage
Practice Setting & Volume

Setting: Clinic and hospital call
-
Patient volume: 20–25 patients per day
-
Surgical volume: 20–30 cases per month
-
Call mix: ~20% new consults / 80% callbacks

Admissions managed by hospitalist team

Locum will perform inpatient rounding

Clinical Scope
-
General urology “bread-and-butter” cases, including:
-
Cystoscopy, vasectomy, prostate biopsy, TURP
-
Ureteroscopy, nephrectomy, cystectomy, ESWL
-
Uroflow/cuff studies, bladder scans, Botox injections
-

Robotic system available onsite (robotic experience not required)
Support & Resources

Support staff includes 2 RNs, MA, surgery scheduler, and front office staff

Clinic manager provides orientation and clinic tour prior to start

Fully supported OR environment
Candidate Requirements
-
Board Certified Urology (highly preferred) or Truly Board Eligible (within 0–5 years of residency completion)

Active Washington medical license preferred; IMLC considered with LOQ in hand

BLS and DEA required (ACLS preferred)

Ability to cover approximately 80% of requested dates

Must be comfortable in a busy, independent practice environment

Clean malpractice history strongly preferred
Credentialing & Compliance

Estimated credentialing timeframe: ~3 months

Credentialing deadline is 3 weeks prior to start date

Provider must meet committee review timelines if applicable

Incomplete or delayed credentialing packets will not be accepted
