Client is seeking a locum Urologist to provide daytime acute care coverage for two continuous weeks per month. The role includes inpatient consults, ED/ICU support, daily rounding, and two half-day follow-up clinic sessions per week. No night or weekend call is listed in the job description.

This is a consistent, structured assignment ideal for urologists who prefer predictable daytime hours with full APP support.

Clinical Responsibilities

Inpatient Acute Urology

  • Inpatient consults
  • ED, ICU, and med/surg consults
  • Daily rounding
  • Management of urgent urologic conditions: retention, stones, hematuria, Foley complications, infected stones
  • Bedside procedures (based on privileges): Foley placement, suprapubic catheter management, bladder irrigation, clot evacuation

Follow-Up Clinic (2 Half Days/Week)

  • Post-URS
  • Post-TURP
  • Post-lithotripsy
  • Foley checks/removals
  • Stent removals (if privileged)
  • Imaging/lab review
    Clinic is strictly follow-up; no new consults.

Schedule & Structure

  • Coverage: Two weeks per month (or week-on/week-off)
  • Hours: Daytime schedule (approx. 8a–4p); APPs on for 10-hour days
  • Volume: 8–12 patients/day (combined inpatient + clinic)
  • Travel: Minimal; Rock Island → Bettendorf ~15 min → Moline clinic central
  • EMR: EPIC

  • BC Urologist
  • Comfortable with acute inpatient urology
  • Able to manage light follow-up clinic volumes
  • Consistent block availability
  • IL or IA license preferred (willing to consider licensing candidates)
