Job description A Board-Certified or truly Board-Eligible Urologist is needed for ongoing locum tenens coverage in California. This is a long-term vacancy assignment providing a mix of inpatient and outpatient care plus call coverage. The role involves a full spectrum of general and advanced urology procedures. Coverage is needed for week-long blocks each month (including major holidays). The provider will work scheduled daytime clinic hours and take call in the evenings and weekends. Active CA license and fluoro privileges are required. EMR is Epic.

Job Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient urology services
Perform general urology procedures and advanced endoscopic/laparoscopic techniques
Manage adult and some pediatric urology cases
Cover clinic Monday–Friday and participate in call coverage (evenings and weekends)
Document all patient encounters using Epic EMR
Work collaboratively with on-site RNs, MAs, and office staff

Qualifications

MD/DO with active California medical license
Board Certified or truly Board Eligible in Urology
Active fluoro privileges (will be verified prior to placement)
ACLS certification
Minimum two years of current hospital clinical activity in urology
Current surgical case logs; no unexplained gaps greater than 3 months

Working Hours

Clinic: Monday–Thursday 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (times may vary); Friday 7:30 AM–5:00 PM (times may vary) with a one-hour unpaid lunch
Call: 7–10 days per month, including weekends
Weekdays: regular clinic hours plus night call
Weekends: 24-hour call
Coverage blocks begin November 24, 2025, and recur throughout 2026, depending on privileging

Skills

General and advanced urologic surgical skills including ureteroscopy, laparoscopic surgery, nephrectomy, radical prostatectomy, pelvic node dissection, partial nephrectomies with intraoperative ultrasound, adrenalectomy, renal/bladder ultrasound with biopsy, TRUS biopsies, incontinence procedures, ESWL, and penile prosthesis
Strong clinical judgment and ability to handle a high patient volume (16+ per shift)
Proficiency in Epic EMR
Collaborative team player with excellent communication skills
