Express Care Physician opening in NC Location: Creedmoor, 28m to Raleigh Job Type: Full-Time Position Summary: We are seeking a full-time Express Care Physician to provide immediate, high-quality, and patient-centered care in a fast-paced urgent care setting. This role involves treating episodic illnesses, minor injuries, work-related health problems, and conducting occupational health exams (including DOT and Sheriff Standard fitness for duty exams). The ideal candidate should be well-versed in handling acute conditions and have a strong background in occupational health requirements. Key Responsibilities: Patient Care: Assess, diagnose, and treat a variety of acute medical conditions, injuries, and illnesses. Emergency Response: Provide urgent care for non-life-threatening emergencies, performing minor procedures like suturing and wound care. Collaboration: Work closely with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care, and make referrals to specialists as needed. Documentation: Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) of patient encounters, diagnoses, and treatment plans. Patient Education: Educate patients and families about conditions, treatment options, and preventive care. Quality and Compliance: Adhere to clinical guidelines, safety standards, and organizational policies. Qualifications: Education: MD or DO from an accredited medical school. Licensure: Current, unrestricted medical license in NC or eligibility for licensure. Board Certification: Preferred in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Emergency Medicine. Experience: Prior experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, or similar settings is desirable. Skills: Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required. Working Conditions: Environment: Fast-paced clinic, with exposure to a range of patient conditions and potential high patient volume. Hours: Full-time position, with a typical workweek of approximately 40 hours. Monday–Friday (7:30 am–6:00 pm) and Saturday (8:00 am–2:00 pm). Occasional weekend coverage required.
