Echo Locum Tenens is currently looking for physicians that are available and interested in telemedicine work. This position affords you the flexibility to work from home and create your own schedule! Acceptable Specialty: Board Certified Family Practice, Internal Medicine, or ER; would prefer physicians with multiple state licenses but will not turn away single state licenses; Physicians do not need to live/be in the state that consults originate from- but they must be licensed in state of origination.
Availability: flexible
Current situation: provides telemedicine in 44 states and growing rapidly! Services are available to businesses, individuals and families.
Schedule: flexible- company provides access to physicians 24/7/365; Peak times are form 7am-9pm; the number of consults depends on provider licenses as well as availability
Certifications requirements: Board Certified; provider needs to have access to a phone (or computer to video conference); please note, they use their own phones and computers and they are not reimbursed. Company platform is in the cloud and completely HIPAA secure. They use [Register to View] as hosting sites. Providers cannot download any information but they do have to sign a HIPAA BAA. (*I am working on getting a tutorial and visibility on process from start to finish so we inform providers of what to expect)
Duties: common illnesses- mostly episodic care (colds, flu, fever, sore throat); Docs are available to answer questions, provide second opinions and when appropriate, provide prescription refills (NO DEA controlled or lifestyle medications)
How it works: (providers can do either/or)
BY PHONE:
Step 1: patient calls hotline
Step 2: Patient will speak with a Care Coordinator (they will triage and determine basic need); Care Coordinator will locate next available provider
Step 3: patient speaks with a doctor; Doctors are automatically connected to patient for consultation
BY VIDEO CONFERENCE:
Step 1: Patient logs onto their personal HER
Step 2: patient fills out medical history and updates info
Step 3: a provider is located for video consultation
# of Consults: average is typically 20 consults per 12 hr period/per provider
Credentialing time frame: quick;
Travel: n/a
