Are you a Board Certified or Board Eligible Vascular Surgeon seeking a recurring locum tenens arrangement in central Michigan? A premier 328-bed Level II Trauma Center and regional flagship hospital in Midland, Michigan is unpausing its vascular surgery search due to recent schedule updates. Seeking coverage across multiple dedicated shift blocks from October through December, this opportunity offers robust 4-APP clinical support, state-of-the-art hybrid operating suites, and a full-scope clinical practice.

The Opportunity

Step into a high-volume regional vascular program, providing advanced endovascular, open surgical, and outpatient clinical care alongside a dedicated team of Advanced Practice Providers.

• Clinical Scope: Lead full-scope vascular surgery services across clinic, surgical, and inpatient settings, including:

  • Performing open aortic, complex endovascular, peripheral vascular, and invasive vascular procedures

  • Utilizing state-of-the-art Cath, IR, Hybrid operating suites, standard ORs, and non-invasive vascular lab facilities

  • Managing outpatient clinic visits (new and follow-up patient evaluations)

  • Interpreting non-invasive vascular testing reads

  • Documenting care and entering orders via EPIC EMR and Dragon dictation

• The Schedule & Shift Blocks: Candidates must be able to cover the majority of the following dates:

  • October: 10/5–10/9, 10/15, 10/23–10/25

  • November: 11/2–11/9, 11/16–11/23, 11/27, 11/30–12/7

  • December: 12/14–12/17

• Orientation & Proctoring: Includes 1 business day of Orientation/Epic Training and up to 2 days of Proctoring (5-case requirement).

• Call Structure: 1:3 weekend call rotation (~2 weekends per month) plus holiday and weeknight call coverage.

• Clinical Support Structure: Supported by 4 dedicated APPs (no formal APP supervision required).

Candidate Requirements

Candidate must provide a gapless CV (Month/Year format), clean background/OIG checks, verified 12-month case logs, and confirmation of agency presentation exclusivity.

• Degree & Board Status: MD or DO; Board Certified (BC) or Board Eligible (BE) in Vascular Surgery.

• Licensure: Active, unencumbered Michigan State Medical License (or active IMLC Letter of Qualification).

• Life Support: Active BLS and ACLS certifications required.

• Case Logs & Experience: Minimum 1 year of post-grad experience and verified case logs demonstrating at least 50 major vascular surgical procedures within the past 12 months (including a minimum of 7 open aortic procedures and a representative mix of care).
