Position Overview
Seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Vascular Surgeon for a high-paying weekend 24-hour call locum opportunity covering two closely located hospitals. This is a procedural, inpatient-focused vascular surgery role with strong compensation and consistent weekend coverage needs.
This position is ideal for surgeons comfortable managing acute vascular emergencies, inpatient consults, and operative cases in a high-acuity hospital setting.
Schedule
- Weekend 24-hour call coverage
- Shift Options:
- Friday 7:00 AM or 3:00 PM – Monday 7:00 AM
- Block: July 2 (7:00 AM) – July 6 (7:00 AM)
- Coverage Frequency: Every weekend
- Call Type: Inpatient + OR + emergency consults
- Travel: Drive-in only (no flights required)
Clinical Responsibilities
- Provide vascular surgery call coverage across two hospitals
- Manage acute vascular cases including:
- Bypass procedures
- Amputations
- Emergency vascular consults
- Support inpatient and ED consult services
- Collaborate with APPs (available for first assist)
- Provide operative coverage as needed
- Cover facilities 25 minutes apart
Practice Details
- Setting: Acute care hospital system
- EMR: Epic
- Hospital Size: 150 beds
- Support Staff: APP support available for first assist
- Case Mix: High-acuity vascular surgery including emergent interventions
- Patient Population: Adult (18+)
Requirements
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Vascular Surgery
- Active Pennsylvania license required
- DEA required
- Minimum 1 year experience required
- Comfortable with independent weekend call coverage and emergent surgical cases
