The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley School of Medicine, Department of Surgery, is seeking qualified Trauma Surgeons at the Assistant or Associate Professor level to join a growing department and practice. Successful candidates will have a demonstrated excellence in clinical care, teaching and scholarly activity. Responsibilities will include sharing call on the trauma and emergency surgery service performing, critical care and resident and student education.
Applicant must be Board Certified in General Surgery, have completed a Trauma Surgery Fellowship, be Board Eligible or Certified and be eligible for a Texas Medical License. Academic rank will be awarded commensurate with qualifications, experience and academic credentials. Women, veterans and minorities are encouraged to apply.
Minimum Qualifications: Applicant must be Board Certified in General Surgery, have completed a Trauma Surgery Fellowship, be Board Eligible or Certified, eligible for a Texas Medical License. and qualified to hold a faculty appointment in the Department of Surgery at the UTRGV School of Medicine and appropriate hospital staff appointments.
The successful candidate should have a proven record of clinical excellence, experience in an educational environment, and outstanding communication skills. Demonstration of strong commitment to the education of residents and medical students is essential.
