- Other Details: This is a hospital-based trauma surgery opportunity at a Level 1 trauma center with 617 beds and an annual ER volume of 80,000, where approximately 35% of ED patients are admitted. The schedule includes one week of weekday shifts (Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM), three weekday night calls (4:00 PM–7:00 AM), and two 24-hour weekend shifts (Saturday or Sunday, 7:00 AM–7:00 AM next day). On-call responsibilities include three nights per week and weekend coverage. The practice uses Epic EMR and is supported by a full OR staff. The average daily trauma surgical caseload is 5, and procedures include trauma cases in adult and geriatric populations, both penetrating and blunt trauma, chest tube insertions, as well as laparoscopic appendectomies and cholecystectomies. The patient population is primarily adult and geriatric, with occasional pediatric cases. Submission requirements include Board Certification, Fellowship training, active CT license (preferred but can reconsider), ACLS, and DEA (verbal confirmation required).

Job Responsibilities
- Perform chest tube insertions
- Conduct laparoscopic appendectomies and cholecystectomies
- Provide inpatient trauma care in a Level 1 trauma center
- Participate in weekday and weekend call coverage
- Accurately document in Epic EMR
Qualifications
- Fellowship training (required)
- Active Connecticut medical license (required; may reconsider if no local candidates)
- ACLS certification (required)
- DEA license (verbal confirmation required at name clear)
Working Hours
- Three weekday night shifts: Monday–Friday, 4:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Two weekend shifts (Saturday or Sunday): 24 hours, 7:00 AM – 7:00 AM next day
- On-call: Three nights per week and weekends
