Ortho-Trauma Surgery
5/1/2024 - Ongoing
Surgical block includes all the Ortho trauma block time (8a-7p Mon-Friday, with 2 rooms on Tuesday and Friday, and 8a-1p on Sat and Sun)
Average is 1-2 call nights per week. Call response time of 30 minutes or less. 1 weekend of call per month. If covering the weekend, then no additional calls for that week unless other surgeons are out on PTO. During the summer, we are busier so being called in to do a case after hours while on call is not uncommon, probably happens about 75% of the time. All call (including weekends) is supported by an ortho trauma APP.
Work Details:
· Support staff: Will work with 3 other ortho trauma fellowship trained surgeons.
· Average case load per block is 3-5 cases during the summer, with all types of ortho trauma cases (upper extremity, lower extremity, periarticular fractures, pelvic/acetabular fractures)
·EMR: EPIC
· Hospital bed size: 378
· Must have experience taking call in a trauma center. Also, must have experience treating periarticular fractures and pelvis/acetabulum fractures. All types of ortho trauma cases (upper extremity, lower extremity) Cases They Will NOT do: Joint replacements, sports injuries (ACL/RC tears), diabetic foot (those go to foot/ankle) and hand/wrist (those go to hand surgery)
· Board Certification: American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS) or the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopedic Surgery (AOBOS) or obtain such certification within 3 years of employment. DEA & CSR
