A hospital is seeking a trauma surgeon for locum tenens coverage.

Specialty Needed: Trauma Acute Care Surgery, they are looking for 3 locum physicians

Dates needed: this is for in patient call relief and dates will vary, but they would like someone as soon as they get someone privileged(120 days to priv). This will be ongoing through 1/1/2025

Details:
Why the need? They are down 3 physicians, and their current ones are burnt out and moral is decreasing
Hospital Bed Count:
Trauma Level: Level II but operating at Level I and they are very busy
Schedule details: 12 hour in house call with possible back up call
Typical Daily Volume: 35 trauma, 35 EGS(emergency general surgery)
Procedures required:
Support Staff: APPs
Perm Surgeons on staff:
EMR: EPIC
Credentialing timeline: 120 days
Requirements: BC and all of the above in my order intro
Must be GA licensed
12 hour shifts will be either trauma or EGS. Sometimes on weekends or nights they cover both, but they are trying to get away from that. She said she doesnt believe that they cover ICU at night, but they could be asked to cover ICU during the day.
they do a week in the ICU at a time, so most likely they wont ask the locum provider to cover that.
must be trauma SCC fellowship trained.
