Charleston Area Medical Center (CAMC) is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Liver Transplant Surgeon to join our prestigious transplant medical team and facilitate the development of the liver transplant program at CAMC. Job Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:
• Perform liver transplant surgeries with proficiency and precision, adhering to established protocols and standards of care.
• Evaluate patients for liver transplantation candidacy, including conducting thorough assessments, reviewing medical histories, and coordinating pre-transplant evaluations.
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including hepatologists, transplant coordinators, anesthesiologists, and other specialists, to ensure comprehensive patient care throughout the transplant process.
• Provide post-operative care and follow-up to transplant recipients, monitoring for complications and adjusting treatment plans as needed.
• Participate in transplant program development initiatives, quality improvement projects, and research endeavors to advance the field of liver transplantation.

Qualifications

Qualifications:
• Medical degree from an accredited institution
• Board certification or eligibility in General Surgery by the ABS
• Completion of a transplant surgery fellowship at an ASTS approved program
• Active medical licensure in the state of West Virginia (or eligibility to obtain)
• Demonstrated experience and expertise in liver transplantation surgery, including a track record of successful outcomes
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment
• Experience in Hepatobiliary Surgery
