**Cardiothoracic Surgery Medical Director Opportunity in Savannah, GA**
**Position Overview:**
An established health system is seeking an experienced Cardiothoracic Surgeon to serve as Medical Director of Cardiothoracic Surgery in Savannah, GA. This leadership role combines clinical excellence with strategic oversight, offering the opportunity to lead and grow a comprehensive heart and vascular program.
**Assignment Details:**
- Full-time, employed leadership position
- Blend of clinical practice and administrative responsibilities
- Perform a full spectrum of cardiothoracic surgical procedures
- Lead program development, quality initiatives, and service line growth
- Collaborate with cardiology, vascular surgery, anesthesia, and critical care teams
- Participate in call rotation
**Leadership Responsibilities:**
- Provide strategic direction for the cardiothoracic surgery program
- Drive quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
- Oversee clinical protocols, outcomes, and performance metrics
- Mentor and support physicians, APPs, and surgical staff
- Partner with hospital leadership on program growth and operational efficiency
- Support recruitment and retention efforts
**Practice Environment:**
- Established cardiovascular service line with strong referral network
- Advanced OR capabilities and dedicated CV surgical teams
- Access to cardiac catheterization labs, hybrid OR, and ICU support
- Multidisciplinary team including cardiologists, intensivists, and APPs
- Robust administrative and operational support
**Requirements:**
- MD or DO
- Board Certified in Cardiothoracic Surgery
- Eligible for Georgia medical licensure
- Demonstrated leadership experience preferred
- Strong clinical, communication, and team-building skills
