Cardiothoracic Surgeon (MD/DO) – Locum Tenens Opportunity
York, Pennsylvania
A Cardiothoracic Surgery locum opportunity is available in York, PA, offering weekend call coverage with APP support in an inpatient setting. This is an excellent opportunity for a surgeon seeking consistent, ongoing coverage with a manageable call burden.
Assignment Overview
- Start Date: May 10, 2026
- Setting: Inpatient – Weekend Call Coverage
- Schedule:
- Friday 12:00 PM – Monday 7:00 AM
- Coverage Needed: Approximately 3 weekends per month
- Assignment Type: Ongoing
Clinical Responsibilities
- Provide cardiothoracic surgery call coverage
- Respond to consults and urgent surgical cases
- Provide backup support after initial consults
- Manage patients from cath lab requiring surgical intervention
Practice Details
- APP support available
- Average callback (including rounding): 2–4 hours
- No TAVR procedures required
- Patients who are stable may be managed until weekday team resumes
- EMR: Epic
Requirements
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiac Surgery
- Comfortable managing urgent cardiothoracic cases and call coverage
- Ability to work collaboratively with APP support
