Thoracic Surgery Physician Opening in Baltimore, MD
Location: Baltimore, MD – Major metropolitan area access

Position Overview
Seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Thoracic Surgeon to join a well-established thoracic surgery division within a large regional health system. This position offers a mix of inpatient and outpatient care, including both open and minimally invasive thoracic procedures.
The role involves working within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment with strong clinical support and opportunities for program development, academic involvement, and research.
Qualifications / Candidate Requirements
* MD or DO from an accredited medical school
* Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery and Thoracic Surgery
* Demonstrated clinical expertise in minimally invasive and robotic thoracic procedures
* Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
* Academic or teaching experience preferred
* Interest in program development and clinical innovation
Position Highlights / Opportunity Highlights
* Multisite thoracic surgery practice with shared clinical responsibilities across multiple locations
* Mix of inpatient and outpatient surgical care
* Access to advanced surgical technology including ION robotic platform and DaVinci XI robotic systems
* Thoracic call limited to thoracic patients with first-call coverage from residents and advanced practice providers
* Dedicated support team including APPs, nurse navigators, and surgical residents
* Collaboration with pulmonology, oncology, gastroenterology, radiation oncology, interventional radiology, and other surgical subspecialties
* Participation in a lung screening and pulmonary nodule program supported by nurse navigation and AI database tools
* Teaching involvement with an ACGME-accredited General Surgery Residency program
* Opportunity for academic appointment through affiliated medical school
* Research opportunities including resident-supported and independent research
Compensation & Benefits
* Guaranteed base salary: $400,000 – $550,000 depending on experience
