Position Overview:
We are seeking a board-certified Cardiothoracic Surgeon to join a dynamic inpatient team on a locum tenens basis. The role involves performing complex cardiac and thoracic procedures, participating in patient care rounding, and providing on-call coverage according to a rotating schedule.
Responsibilities:
Perform a range of cardiothoracic surgical procedures, including:
CABGs (Coronary Artery Bypass Grafts)
Aortic and Mitral valve replacement/repairs
Ascending aortic root work
TAVRs (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement)
Routine lung resections (lobectomy) and mediastinoscopy
Participate in inpatient rounding and postoperative care.
Provide on-call coverage approximately 1:2 weeknight rotation and every other weekend.
Follow the established call rotation: weekend call provider also covers mid-week call the following week; the other provider covers Mon/Tue and FriβSun.
Requirements:
Board certified in Cardiothoracic Surgery
Active ACLS/BLS
Strongly prefer PA medical licensure
Minimum commitment of 2 weeks per month
Experience in CT surgery required; robotic surgery experience preferred but not mandatory
Ability to work with EPIC EMR
