Job Responsibilities
-Surgical Assisting: Assist in complex cardiac surgeries, including endoscopic vein harvesting (Maquet-Getinge system) and first assisting.
-Patient Management: Manage ICU and cardiovascular surgical patients, including rounding and evaluation of CVICU, floor, and clinic patients.
-Participate in two full-day clinics weekly and rotate through operating room coverage Monday through Friday.
-Perform bedside procedures and order/interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests.
-Develop and implement detailed plans of care and write prescriptions per policy.
Qualifications
-Board Certification: PA-C certification by NCCPA [REQUIRED].
-Experience: Minimum 3+ years in cardiac/cardiovascular surgery and ICU management, or experience with endoscopic vein harvesting and first assisting [REQUIRED].
-Licensure: Active Colorado Medical License (or willing to obtain).
-Credentialing: Most recent NPDB Self-Query Report (within 30 days active) and active DEA with full prescriptive authority [REQUIRED].
-Visa Support: Unable to support J1 or H1B visa candidates.
Working Hours
-On-Call: 1:4-5 weekday call and 1:4-5 rotating weekend call. (Note: In-house NP manages call from 8:30 PM to 6:30 AM).
