Job description
ATC West Healthcare Services is seeking a Board-Certified Cardiothoracic Surgeon to provide locum coverage in a hospital-based cardiothoracic surgery team. The position includes a mix of weekday rounding and call coverage, along with dedicated weekend night call responsibilities. This opportunity is based at a Level I trauma center and focuses on adult cardiac and thoracic surgical care.
Dates & Schedule
Start Date: ASAP
Credentialing Timeframe: Approximately 90 days
Coverage Structure:

1 week per month (Monday–Friday): On-site patient rounding and call coverage

1 weekend per month: Night call starting Friday evening through Monday morning (24-hour beeper call)

Call ratio: Open to options
Average Volume: Approximately 1 surgical case per weekend

The physician will provide comprehensive cardiothoracic surgical care, manage inpatient rounding, and respond to call coverage needs, primarily focused on adult cardiac and thoracic cases.
Required Skills & Qualifications

Board Certified in Cardiothoracic Surgery (required)

Active Michigan medical license (required at time of name clear; IMLC/Compact not accepted)

BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (required)

NPDB self-query (within 30 days of presentation)

Clean malpractice and license history (highly preferred)
