Thoracic Surgeon Opportunity Near Pittsburgh, PA


We are seeking a dedicated Thoracic Surgeon to join our group of highly-skilled physicians just outside of Pittsburgh, PA. Please join our effort to make a difference in our communities each and every day.


Our Thoracic Surgeons provide comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for patients with lung, thoracic and esophageal disorders, in both the inpatient and outpatient setting. Clinical responsibilities include procedures such as navigational bronchoscopy, EBUS, robotic and open lung and esophageal procedures. The surgeons actively participate in lung cancer screening and management programs. Collaborate with other medical professionals including Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and other staff to provide high quality care. The surgeon is responsible for developing the plan of care for all patients to include admissions, consultations, discharges, and participation in transitions of care. Advanced Practice Providers (APP's) support the surgeon in both the inpatient and outpatient setting. Position provides a collaborative surgical team and a good work life balance.


About the Position:

  • Join a multi-specialty group with Thoracic and Cardiothoracic Surgeons
  • Expanding program and succession planning- Thoracic cases are currently being done by the CT Surgeons. Transitioning Thoracic cases to a dedicated Thoracic Surgeon.
  • 3 -Butler CT Surgeons will be available to mentor as well as the 2 Thoracic Surgeons in the Westmoreland Area Advanced Lung Center at Butler
  • 50/50 inpatient/clinic
  • 120 cases last year
  • 2 APPs
  • One robot at present with plans for 2nd robot

Requirements:

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible
  • Current Pennsylvania state medical licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure.
