- Start Date: March onwards
- Setting: Inpatient
- Patient Volume: each surgeon generally averages 2-4 OR cases per day
- Job Details: a 383-bed acute care hospital seeking a board-certified cardiothoracic surgeon to provide part-time locum tenens coverage with consistent availability of at least one week per month. The role is inpatient-based with call responsibilities and follows a firm Monday-to-Monday schedule. The surgeon will perform all aspects of adult cardiac and thoracic surgery, including CABG, valve surgery, thoracic aorta procedures, pulmonary resections, and heart and lung surgery, with related vascular procedures preferred but not required. The hospital supports a high-volume, well-established cardiothoracic surgery program with an average inpatient census of 25 to 40 patients, occasionally reaching 50, and surgeons typically perform two to four cases per day. The program is supported by six physician assistants who first assist in surgery and share call coverage, along with APRNs who manage inpatient rounds, consults, and clinic coverage.
- Client Requirements: Candidates must hold an MD or DO, be board certified in thoracic surgery by the ABTS, maintain BLS, ACLS, and ATLS certifications

- Delta Locum Tenens can assist with travel arrangements and credentialing, and will cover malpractice.
