LOCUM Cardiac Surgeon *133466: Northwest, Pennsylvania
Practice:
Boards: Must be certified or Truly Eligible
Certs: ACLS, CPR, BLS
License: Will accept a licensing candidate
Minimum Experience: 3 years
Coverage:
Start: December 23, 2025
Duration: Ongoing
Need: 4 shifts per month
Type: Call and Rounding
Schedule: Friday - Monday AM
Schedule: No set weekends needed other than 12/23-26 and 6/9 to Sunday 6/14.
Night Call 5 pm - 8 am
24-Hour Call 8 am - 8 am
Typical Day: Emergency Cases, ECMO, Tamponade
Solo - Yes
Other Specialties onsite: Thoracic and Vascular surgery, as well as general and trauma surgery
Additional:
24-hour call-only position, no clinic.
Is the physician the sole provider on call? Yes, but APPs take floor call
Are providers required to harvest endovein and/or perform open/close for open-heart procedures? APPs are available for OR support
Average # of calls when on call? 1 (APPs take first call for all but ICU, ED, and transfers)
Will the physician be expected to act as a Surgical First Assist? No
How many operating rooms are dedicated to cardiac surgery? 2 rooms per day on most days
