Locum Cardiothoracic Surgery Opportunity – Connecticut
A Level I Trauma Center in Connecticut is seeking a Locum Cardiothoracic Surgeon for a 3–6 month assignment beginning February/March, with potential extension into 2026 and possible permanent hire.
Position Overview

Reason for Coverage: LOA and physician departure

Practice Setting: Hospital-based – Inpatient, OR, ICU, ER & floor rounding

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Call: Nights & weekends (TBD)

Approx. 7–8 calls per month
-
3-provider call rotation
-
-
Cases per Day: ~2
-
Trauma Level: Level I
-
Annual ER Volume: ~85,000
-
Operating Rooms: 3
-
EMR: EPIC
-
Ancillary Staff: Full complement

Patient Population: Adult & Geriatric

Descending & Thoracic Aortic Aneurysms

CABG (On-pump & Off-pump)

Redo Coronary Revascularization
-
Arterial Revascularization (IMA, Radial, Gastroepiploic)

Heart Valve Repair & Replacement

Mitral Valve Repair
-
CoreValve® System
-
Tube Thoracostomy
-
Pericardial Window
Credentialing & Logistics

Requirements (All Required)

Board Certified in Cardiothoracic Surgery

Active Connecticut License ONLY

BLS & ACLS

Local provider (mileage reimbursement only – address required at presentation)
