Job Summary
A leading health system in Northern Illinois is seeking aBoard-Certified or Board-Eligible Cardiac Surgeonto join a dynamic and expanding cardiovascular surgery team. The ideal candidate will be skilled in adult cardiac surgery with interest in coronary artery disease and structural heart disease, including surgical and trans-catheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR).
This position offers the unique opportunity to play a key leadership role in building a robust, regionally recognized cardiothoracic surgery program supported by an established network of over 280 employed providers across multiple specialties.
Position Highlights:

Perform advanced cardiac surgical procedures, focusing on coronary artery and structural heart disease.

Collaborate with a team of cardiologists to develop and grow a comprehensive TAVR program.

Partner with a fully staffed cardiology service line including interventional, electrophysiology, and advanced heart failure specialists.

Provide surgical care in state-of-the-art facilities, including:

Modern hybrid operating suites and 15 surgical rooms.

Three DaVinci Xi robotic systems.
-
30-bed ICU with dedicated intensivist coverage.
Serve a 12-county referral region across northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin with a population catchment of over 500,000.
Academic appointment and teaching opportunities available through local and regional medical schools.
Support for cardiothoracic oncology through collaboration with a multidisciplinary cancer center.
Education & Qualifications:

MD or DO " Required

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiothoracic Surgery (Board certification required within 5 years) " Required

Active Illinois medical license and DEA license, or eligibility to obtain prior to hire " Required

Bi-annual CPR certification " Preferred
