Overview
Seeking an experienced Board-Certified Cardiothoracic Surgeon for a 3–6 month locum assignment starting February/March, with potential extension into 2026 and possible permanent hire. Coverage is needed due to LOA and provider departure.
Practice Highlights
• Hospital-based inpatient role with responsibilities across OR, ICU, ER, and floor rounding
• Level I Trauma Center
• Average 2 cases per day
• 3 operating rooms
• Full ancillary staff support
• Adult and geriatric patient population
• EPIC EMR
Schedule & Coverage
• Monday–Friday: 6:45 AM – 5:00 PM
• Night and weekend call required (approx. 7–8 calls/month)
• Call shared among 3 providers
Required Procedures
• CABG (on-pump and off-pump)
• Redo coronary revascularization
• Heart valve repair/replacement (including Mitral Valve)
• CoreValve® system
• Thoracic & descending aortic aneurysm repair
• Arterial revascularization (IMA, radial, gastroepiploic)
• Tube thoracostomy & pericardial window
Credentialing
• Estimated timeframe: 30–45 days
Candidate Requirements
• Board Certified – REQUIRED
• Active Connecticut license only – REQUIRED
• BLS & ACLS – REQUIRED
